Dr.Tuliram Ronghang (Chief Execitive Member)

Early Life 

Dr.Tuliram was born on 6th August,1972 in a small town Artukekang, West Karbi Anglong to a Karbi family Tuliram Ronghang (born August 6, 1972, Artukekang, Dongkmukam in West Karbi Anglong) is an Indian Politician serving as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). He is the proud son of Mr. Joysing Ronghang and the late Basapi Teronpi. Tuliram was educated with a solid academic foundation, He earned his Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Guwahati Commerce College, following his earlier education at Dongkamukam High School, (now known as Dongkamukam Higher Secondary school, and Hojai College. He is a prominent leader in his community, serving as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council for a third consecutive time. He has held this influential position since October 24, 2013, with subsequent terms beginning on July 7, 2017, and June 23, 2022. In June 2016, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), further solidifying his commitment to public service and governance.

Personal life

Throughout his political life, Tuliram has maintained a healthy lifestyle. He also quoted “Staying fit is the key to fighting any diseases or infection”. He encourages everyone to engage physical activity daily as a habit to stay fit and healthy. Outside of his professional commitments, Tuliram enjoys playing badminton, reflecting his passion for sports and community engagement. His leadership, dedication, and personal interests make him a dynamic figure in the Karbi Anglong region. In addition to his political duties, Tuliram is deeply involved in sports, having been appointed as the President of the Karbi Anglong Sports Association and the Working President of the Assam Badminton Association. His contributions to sports and youth development have been recognized and dedicates his efforts to supporting local agriculture, particularly paddy plantation. He is also invested in constructing educational institutions, demonstrating his commitment to the upliftment of his community. Tuliram Ronghang stands as a prominent figure in promoting sports, education, and agricultural development in West Karbi Anglong, inspiring many with his dedication and vision for progress.

Awards and recognition

Tuliram also holds an honorary doctorate degree (Honoris Causa) from Bharath Virtual University of Peace and Education, registered under NITI Aayog, Government of India for his humble efforts in ushering Peace, education, and development, notably he was also honored with the “Samonoy Bota Award” named after the first founder President of Karbi Adorbar, late Sarsing Teron Habe, from Padmashree Rongbong Terang.
